The Football Association (FA) said that Manas had “admitted that his behaviour during the 94th minute was improper and violent”.

Manas has also been handed an £8,000 fine, as well as a ban that will see him miss Villa’s first Premier League games of the 2023-24 season against Newcastle United, Everton and Burnley.

The FA said that a second charge of “improper” behaviour in the tunnel at Villa Park after the final whistle had been withdrawn, with Manas instead issued with a warning.

Molina had also been charged in March with improper behaviour and/or language during and after the game, but the FA said that both those charges had been withdrawn prior to a hearing.

The Arsenal analyst has instead been warned over his future conduct.

Arsenal start the new Premier League campaign at home to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, with Aston Villa travelling to Newcastle later that day.
